I started playing guitar at 14 years of age. My father and mother are both musicians and initially I was taught basic chords and rhythm by them. I had ambitions of attending Berklee School of Music in Boston. I spent three years at Fullerton College studying Jazz guitar with Dr. Joe Jewell, who is one of the finest guitarist in professional music and a Jedi Jazzman. I received the friends of Jazz scholarship and Berklee world tour scholarship. In 2004 I would hold the guitar chair in United States Marine Corps Band.

I've been playing music my whole life, but it was as a high school student when I was asked to teach the school's guitar class that I became a teacher. Since that time I've gone on to earn several awards, played in many different types of projects, and earned a Master's degree.
