Music theory Lessons

Intro to Music Theory:
Music is Organized Sound. You will learn how sound is organized by tone (melody) and in time (rhythm).

Music Theory Basics:
Read notes, Count and read basic rhythm (4/4 and 3/4), understand scales, key signatures, time signatures, chord structure, and dynamics

Intermediate Music Theory:
Learn the logic and relation between keys, chords, notes, and rhythms - basic ear training, read chord charts, understand intervals, chord inversions, and mixed meter (odd time) time signatures

Overview

Michael Solan is a professional singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He has performed at STAPLES Center, Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, and for numerous corporate and celebrity clients - playing guitar and singing his original songs and well-known covers.

Mr. Solan sang tenor in A' Capella choir for four years during high school, and studied a diverse repertoire of classical and contemporary music. Through his high school music department, he developed a strong foundation in music theory and performance at a young age.

Mr. Solan received a Bachelor's Degree in Creative Writing from CSULB in 2013. His area of study has been entirely devoted to songwriting, and he has recorded and performed many of his original compositions in various professional settings since 2013.

Mr. Solan is proficient, knowledgeable, and an experienced professional in Voice, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Music Theory, and Songwriting. He has taught all of these subjects as a private Music Tutor to students of all ages since 2013.
