Overview

I am originally from Miami, Florida were I grew up in the arts of Jazz. I started playing music as a cellist in Augusta, Georgia living with my mother. For 5 years as a child I was in tuned into the classical music of the greats accelerating myself into first chair in the All-County Orchestra. Moving back to Miami at the age of 12 with my mother and step father, I was in the middle of transitioning between school systems. I lost my mother after I turned 13 and from there it has been a whole 360. I reentered public schooling where there was no orchestra at the school I went. So they gave me band. I was placed on saxophone, tenor to be exact and from there music became even more evolutionary for me. I took ranks quick staying after school, practicing in parks, home, road side, gym etc. My mentor and teacher Donald Hylor inspired me to be a Jazz musician when he played artists like John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, Coleman Hawkins and Miles Davis. I fell in love. From there I never dropped my horn and the world was my stage. Since then I have been going through my school years taking first chair positions for my dedication in mastering scales, learning songs and of course challenging every person in front of me. I have participated in UM Musicians Camp as both student and counselor during the summers. I have also performed for city's such as Miami Garden, Hallandale Beach and various others. I work as a teacher for the Palm Center of the Arts under the direction of Dr. Deborah Brown,PhD in the city of Hallandale Beach FL for over 5 years since 2011. I have taught numerous ages from 5 to 17 years of age music theory, woodwind and recording and visual arts. I have never put down my horn. in the summer of 2013 we went to Atlanta, prepared with 50 copies of a CD I produced, for a performance and I sold out all 50 in the same day after the show. I did not think we would do so well but the audience enjoyed it. We performed at the Underground Mall by the way. Now I am in Winter Park in school, where I perform for farmers' markets such as Winter Park, Lake Eola and OBT. The people and children enjoy me and I enjoy playing for them. Just a recent Saturday I witnessed an older gentleman get up and start dancing. it was very refreshing to see that. So as a professional player I am always growing and expanding upon my sound for tomorrow. Let me put a little Soulful Sax in you.
