So many people think that great singing is a natural gift, but *I* believe that anyone can be a great singer if they have passion, drive, and commitment!

Here's a little secret, and it has to do with breath! So many of my students have improved *over night* because of understanding and applying proper breath technique.

And guess what, it's a lot easier than you think!

Practice, Practice, Practice!

I'm guilty! I've often thought that great singers were just born that way, but having become a professional singer, I've realized that in order to become a great singer, we have to practice!

Practicing sounds so tedious and takes too much of our time, but I am here to tell you that practicing can be fun! Let me teach you ways to keep it simple and fun so that YOU can be a great singer before you know it!

Questions and Answers

What experience do you have teaching kids?

I actually have a lot of experience teaching kids! It's one of my favorite things to do, I just love the energy and gain so much from teaching children. I was a voice teacher at Chicago Performing Arts Academy in Chicago, so I have tons of experience teaching multiple kids, teaching them Disney songs, pop songs, some want to do classical and jazz pieces (which I love as well!). I've been doing that for over five years now, even in my private studio teaching children as well. It's one of my favorite things! So I have tons of experience and I absolutely love it!

How do your lessons for adults differ from lessons for children?

Teaching adults is much different from teaching children, the repertoire, to begin with, is completely different (song choices). Working with technique is also different as well, because with children, they haven't gained all of the bad habits that we get when we get older. Reteaching the way that we use our breath and how we build technique is a way that is different between adults and children, but I try to make it as fun. I try to find the inner child in all of us to make it an enjoyable experience, to teach you how to practice and have fun with that as well.

Why are you a music teacher?

I'm a music teacher not only because I love singing and I have a huge passion for music, but I love teaching and I love giving the gift of music. I think it's so important to go out there and to share your gift with other people whether that is performing, or in my case, it's teaching! I love working one on one with people to help build them, seeing them grow and seeing them prosper, and having fun with music with other people is such a joy to me, and I hope it's a joy to my students.

Why should I choose you as my teacher?

I would LOVE it if you chose me as your voice teacher :) because I love to work with people to make the lesson experience as fitted to them as possible. I want to give you a great experience since you are putting time and energy into this as well. To kind of work with you, see your personality, see what you love to sing and what you love to do, and then work from there! Help you build your technique, help you find the fun in practicing, and help you build your voice to help you do whatever YOU want to do!

What do you do during the first lesson?

During the first lesson I love to get to know my students, so I love to hear your experience with music, what brought you here, what you love about singing. I will share a little bit about my experiences as well. In my first lesson I love to work with breath, because I feel the easiest thing to fix with our voice has to do with breath. It's so exciting to see students faces when they understand the breath right away, and they can hear the improvements in their voice within minutes! So it's really exciting for me to work with that in the first lesson, because I really love to get you guys excited about singing, the way I'm excited about singing as well.
