Overview

Hi there! My name is David, and I am a multi-instrumentalist from Austin, TX. I have been playing guitar for almost 10 years, and recording/audio engineering for 4 years.

Music runs in my family: my great-grandparents met playing in separate jazz bands in the 1940's; my grandfather has the largest collection of classical music I've ever seen (or heard); my aunt is in a post-punk band; and my father is the one who inspired me to pick up a guitar as a child. I got my first instrument when I was 10 years old (a Casio keyboard), and joined band in middle school, playing trumpet through high school in marching and concert band. In addition, I also took AP Music Theory classes to further supplement my knowledge of the subject.

But, when I was 13, I picked up a guitar, and nothing else quite compares (in my opinion, of course!). It gave me the opportunity to reach higher notes without the strain that brass instruments require; the ability to change tunings, a feature that piano doesn't have; the ability to express emotion while visibly, physically changing the way the instrument is played - it absolutely changed my life!

After playing multiple instruments in several bands spanning from alternative to symphony, jazz to metal, I decided to take my knowledge and experience and begin my career as a solo musician. Now that I have experience writing, recording, and producing my own music, I would love to share that information with musicians and artists in the Austin-metro area! If you are interested in receiving lessons on playing guitar or audio engineering, please give me a call and let's get making some music!
