Olds Ambassador Trumpet

This is supposed to be the top 3 trumpets, but the Olds Ambassador deserves a spot here too. It’s going to take some leg work on your part. But it may just be worth it. The Olds Ambassador is hailed by most professionals as the best beginner trumpet ever made. They stopped making them in 1979. You can still find them used and working well today, over 30 years later. You’re first stop in finding one will likely be eBay. You should expect to spend anywhere between $100-$250 on the trumpet depending on what shape it’s in. Once you get it, the trumpet may need some work. Hey, it’s 30 years old! On older instruments the lacquer often wears down, and there may be some dents. Minor damages like these shouldn’t cost more than $50 to fix. Once you get it all fixed up, this trumpet will play like you wouldn’t believe. Some pros actually prefer it to instruments costing 10 times the price in some cases.
