Would you like to learn how to write music? Preparing for college entrance auditions? Are you looking to record or produce your own music through cutting edge software like Pro Tools and Logic Pro X? These lessons will prepare you for any of these options and more!My name is Jason Obermeier, and I am a private teacher in the North Hollywood/Valley Village area (map) of Los Angeles for music composition and music technology. Holding an MFA in Film Music Composition (University of North Carolina School of the Arts) and actively working full-time in the industry, I offer students a unique perspective when learning how to be competitive in ‘the business.’ Lessons are taught at a family friendly home studio, offering a wide range of professional plugins, software, and hardware, as well as an extensive library of media and academic resources for students to practice and learn from. Students can expect a formal education on many subjects, catered around their reason for signing up. From orchestration, music theory, and notation software to sampled instrument libraries, recording, mixing, and marketing yourself as a business, lessons will cover any and all stages of composing and producing whether it is for the concert hall or digital and interactive media.Lessons are taught for all levels beginner to advanced (post-graduates welcome) for either a half-hour or hour, the ideal student being someone who is pursuing or would like to pursue a career in composition for media, and is currently learning an instrument with the ability to read music. A basic understanding of music theory is advised, though not required.
