Piano and Violin Lessons

Jacqueline's lessons:

Piano, Violin

Piano Lessons

My students will expect a different approach to learning music, particularly learning to play the piano.

I cater to each individual's needs, personality, and learning style. I am a very patient individual who actively listens to others. I not only focus on Classical music, but am able to teach pop songs, film music, and many more.

I appreciate music and the arts very much and believe learning to play a musical instrument is crucial to building up one's character and perspective on life.

The piano is one of the most well-known, and highly essential, musical instrument to learn to play. I began learning to play the piano first and it helped lay the foundation for music in my life, as a profession and as a hobby.

Violin Lessons

I have been involved in my school orchestra (middle, high school, and community college).

I teach through patience and understanding, catering to each individual's needs, personality, and level of skill.

I can teach a student how to plan the violin for the first time, making sure the student knows the proper way to hold the violin and bow, how to produce different quality of tones, and much more.

Overview

"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, and life to everything."
- Plato

Music is my life.
Music is my heart and soul.
Music is my therapy.

I am a student at California State University Fullerton, pursuing a BA in Psychology. However, music is my passion and encompasses each aspect of my life.

I have been playing piano for 21 years and violin for 9 years. I have experience teaching young children and teenagers piano since January 2010, but I am willing to teach older adult students (you are never too young or too old to start learning to play an instrument, especially the piano!)

My philias include: music, art, literature, languages, cultures, intelligence, history, nature, animals, makeup, and a passion to help others. I am also a certified nerd (Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Star Trek, Pokemon, etc)

"I would teach music, physics, and philosophy; but most importantly music, for the patterns in music and all the arts are the keys to learning."
- Plato

Teach to Inspire

I merge together psychology and music, taking an eclectic approach to teaching and learning. I combine behavioral, cognitive, and intrinsic motivation approaches.

Teaching goes both ways. I believe I learn as much from students as they do from me. It is a two-way street in which both student and teacher gain valuable understanding and experience from one another.

"The mediocre teacher tells,
The good teacher explains,
The superior teacher demonstrates,
The great teacher INSPIRES."
- W. A. Ward
