Bass Lessons

Ahhh, the bass guitar. The generally under-appreciated member of the band who, more often than not, is the rock that holds the whole group together. For the beginner just picking up the bass, we'll work together on proper finger picking technique, scales and general music theory, and understanding the function of bass in the context of a band.

Songwriting Lessons

As a songwriter with twelve years of professional experience, I believe music is the ultimate form of expression. Since songwriting is less of a linear, focused subject than some of the others I teach, my songwriting lessons will be very much defined by your needs. I will be happy to work with you on anything and everything from creating a good creative workflow to writing and strengthening lyrics and melodies to creating a backing track for a demo.

Music production Lessons

Being a music producer is so much more than being the person who hits record. A great producer strives to get the very best performances out of their artists and utilizes the studio itself as an instrument. Based on your individual goals and skills, we will work side by side to set you up for success as a music producer.

Overview

Though I was classically trained on piano from age six, my journey with guitar began at twelve. Inspired by Green Day and AC/DC, I asked my parents for a guitar and signed up for lessons at a local guitar shop. I quickly started writing my own songs and started playing with anyone I could, expanding my musical horizons as wide as possible.
As I started taking music more seriously, I began recording and mixing my own music. I find the technical side of music creation to be equally gratifying as compared to performance and composition.
I've spent a good portion of the last decade on the road with my band. We've had some amazing opportunities to tour all over the world with some incredible artists, and I've gained an acute understanding of what it takes to be a professional musician. Because of this experience, I can offer my students a glimpse into what life as a working musician is like and advice on steps they can take should they choose to pursue that path.
Music has always been the core of my life, and I hope to inspire and share that passion with each and every one of my students.
