Students can expect a custom cello workout to build freedom on the instrument- over the years the cello has taken me many places, traveling and collaborating with so many great artists- and I am thankful for all my classical training! I had great teachers from USC and from all over the world. How do we have as much fun as possible on the cello? Do you want to play with bands/with any musician from any style? There are music fundamentals that can help us do exactly that. I have recorded and toured with many great artists, including Dr. Dre and the San Diego Symphony, and in 2013 won a Grammy as part of the rock band Quetzal. www.peteplayscello.com

I am driven by a passion for writing, performing, and recording original music, contributing creatively to the music projects of my respected peers, and sharing my knowledge with others as an educator. Since receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Kansas in 2003, I have continued to expand my knowledge of music and music-related careers with valuable real-world experience. My cello has brought me so much happiness and even gave me the opportunity to go to Europe twice to play in my high school orchestra my freshmen year and then during the summer of my junior year I traveled throughout Hungary and Austria with a proffesional orchestra. I'd love a chance to teach you this amazing and beautiful instrument!

Fun Cello Lessons - Claire C

I am a cellist who has been playing for almost 20 years of my life. I graduated from UC Irvine in 2014, and have had extensive experience as a soloist, in orchestra, and in chamber music. I competed as a soloist and with my piano trio and loved to play gigs with my quartet at different venues. I am currently assistant principal of the IVC Symphony Orchestra.Learning classical music can be hard, and I have first-hand experience in feeling the frustrations and pressure of not improving. I believe the teacher makes a huge impact on whether the student continues to persevere through the struggles or gives up and loses their interest in the instrument. My experience studying under private music teachers for both cello and piano gives me a unique perspective on what works and what doesn't. I like to get to know the student and set goals together so I know that we are on the same page on what we are hoping to achieve. My students can expect to not only improve week by week but also increase their love for the cello.I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better musician!
