Advanced Trumpet Lessons - Ari N

Hello! I absolutely love teaching, i'v worked with students of all ages and abilities, and I hope to be able to share the joy of making music with you. I have a Masters Degree in Music Education from Florida International University and a Bachelor Degree in Music Education from the University of Delaware. I am a Curriculum Support Specialist/Music teacher for Miami-Dade County Public Schools and an adjunct music professor at Florida International University. I have also taught at various summer music camps within the United States. Camp/music is one of my favorte things to do in the summer! My passion and love for the music camp environment sparked my graduate research at FIU, which investigated the concept of ‘community of practice’ and explored the musical and social impact of an overnight music camp’s environment upon its attending youth. This research was presented at the 2014 FMEA Conference, the 2014 NAfME Conference, the 2014 ISME World Conference in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and was published in Research Perspectives In Music Education, the official research journal of the Florida Music Educator’s Association. When I am not teaching I play my trumpet in a variety of musical groups. Some include salsa bands, local orchestras, wind bands, brass groups, jazz groups, and mixed ensembles when I am working at music camp.I look forward to meeting you and exploring music together.

Ear Training LessonsPembroke Pines, FL

“Music is the soundtrack of our lives.” ― Dick ClarkMy name is Natashia L. Reid. I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. I began singing as a little girl but became part of school choruses and vocal ensembles around the age of 10. I began to learn how to play keyboard by ear around the age of 11. I became the keyboard player of my church at the time when I was 13. Since then, I have been active in the music department of three churches. Also, I earned my Associates of Arts in Music Education in 2008. Currently, I one of the vocalist and keyboardist in the Praise Team of my current church. I am studying Exceptional Student Education- I am seeking to create a Music curriculum for Exceptional Students and Individuals with Behavioral Disabilities. In the future, I would love to study Music Therapy.I believe that Ear Training is essential to being a well-rounded musician/vocalist. Not only is it a big part of music theory, but it aids in sight-reading, one can learn music quicker, vocalists will be able to harmonize in excellence, instrumentalist will feel more comfortable with their instrument, it’s a great support in songwriting and improvisation, and it just makes music much more fun.
