Violin Lessons

There is no ONE perfect way of learning, since everyone is different in learning capacities and methods, so my approach takes each person's uniqueness into consideration: personal goals, preferred tastes in music, age, etc. I don't waste time on things the student doesn't PERSONALLY need, either.
Primarily, the goal is to learn in as efficiently and as ENJOYABLY as possible, at each person's individual pace.

Overview

It began with Vivaldi, and his elegant, fanciful violin solos, where I knew I had to play violin, whereas I had actually started with viola, and I was terrible! But I persisted! After patiently learning, I was at a point where I could freely express myself, and this is my motivation for teaching. When you become fluent enough on your instrument(s) of choice, it is the most ecstatic feeling, whether you're playing your favorite Corelli sonata (mine is 'op. 5 no. 7'), or a piece you composed from your own heart, and you feel and hear the musical patterns coming from your hands and instrument synergistically fused into a personal harmony of expressive passion, then you are free to explore yourself and your own potential.
This is what I want to pass on to students. Whatever your long-term goals are, I want to impart the beauty and pleasure of being a musician onto the students.
I played viola for several years before starting violin, so the transition was pretty fast. I also sing, both folk and opera, and play harp and guitar.
I am a music therapist, where I share music in the emotional healing process.
My greatest comforts are in traditional folk songs, like 'Scarborough Fair,' or 'Greensleeves,' and classical pieces by the great composers like Bach and Handel, especially on violin and viola.
For those who wish to, I look forward to undertaking the quest of musical learning and expression together!
Grammercy!
