Drums Lessons

I believe that students learn best from 2 basic tools; immersion and goals. Studies often show that languages are learned by immersing someone in that language, and I have noticed that the same principles apply to music. I accomplish this by getting new drummers to play basic beats from day one, and by getting my students to play as much music as they can. This also allows me to set clear goals so that the students can see their progress in a real song and work towards the next objectives.

Audio engineering Lessons

My goal is to get students comfortable enough to walk into a larger studio and not be uncomfortable or daunted by the world of audio. I can also teach students to get better results at home on a budget.

At my home studio I have all of the same type of tools that would be used at a larger studio such as a large soundboard, nice studio instruments, patch-bay, large microphone locker and an up-to-date software package.

Come work with me and we'll make music sound really good.

Overview

I started developing a passion for music at an early age when my parents started giving me cassettes of Tom Chapin to listen to. Pretty soon I began visiting concerts as early as age 6. Eventually I started listening to Meatloaf and Rush, and that's when I really started to enjoy drumming. I loved watching Neil Peart's drum solos and I started taking lessons so I could do that too. At the age of 11 I started playing and at the age of 12 my parents bought me my first drum kit for my birthday.

For junior high, high school and some of my college I was in concert band, and I also played in the marching band all through high school.

Around when I was entering high school I started to be interested in recording, so I picked up my first microphone pack and recording software to track my drums. I continued to collect more and more recording gear over the greater part of a decade and refine my skills.

In college I studied music theory, jazz drums, composition, audio engineer and I am almost done with my music business degree.

I look forward to meeting you all and sharing my passion for music.

Drums Lessons

My 10 year old son started taking drum lessons a few months ago. I was amazed last week when I stopped by to pick him up to hear how well he was playing on the drum set;; it was truly amazing how far he had come in just a short while . Connor has a kind and gentle manner with the kids and is very patient. Definitely recommend!

Drums Lessons

My son started taking drum lessons with Conner at age 5, with no prior experience, and over the last several months he has learned a lot. Conner is very patient and works hard to make sure he is developing a love and knowledge of music. If you are thinking of signing up, I highly recommend you go for it! Conner is a great musician and has so much to offer you or your child.
